Afrinvest Plutus Fund FAQs
The Afrinvest Plutus Fund (“the Fund”) is a money market fund that enables all categories of income earners to invest in low-risk, short-term, and highly liquid securities such as Treasury Bills, Commercial Papers, Bankers’ Acceptance and Certificate of Deposits, among others. The Fund is an open-ended Unit Trust Scheme approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), that offers unit holders a diversified portfolio of quality assets.
You can invest in the Fund as an individual or as an institution. The Fund is open to all classes of investors who value safety and preservation of capital, as well as attractive real returns.
You can invest for yourself, on behalf of someone or for your business.
You can enjoy a consistent quarterly income through dividends and distributions from the net income
You can easily preserve capital with the well-diversified portfolio of short-term, low-risk money market instruments.

Easy entry and exit into the Fund.
We’re offering 10,000,000 Units of N100.00 each in the Fund.
Investors can buy into the Fund at N100 per unit.
You can invest in the Fund with an initial sum of N5,000 (50 units), with subsequent multiples of 50 units thereafter.
The minimum holding period for an investment in the Fund is ninety-one (91) calendar days from the date of subscription. However, if you wish to redeem your investment before this time, you will forfeit 20% of the returns accrued on such investment.

Next, pay subscription amount into the nominated account
Upon receipt of the documents and your subscription amount, your account will be opened, and we will communicate it to you.
You will also be issued a Unit Statement, which will constitute evidence of the number of Units held.
The Net Asset Value (NAV) of the Fund will be published on a weekly basis. You will also receive a quarterly statement indicating your current holdings and the total value of your investment.
The Fund shall invest a maximum of 100% in quality money market instruments with a minimum tenor of 30 days and a maximum tenor of 366 days. The proposed allocation is as follows: 60% short-term fixed income securities (T-Bills and OMO); 35% unsubordinated short-term debt securities (Bankers Acceptances, Certificates of Deposit, and Commercial Papers); and 5% cash.
The yield of the Fund is subject to prevailing interest rates in the Nigerian money market. Consequently, there is no guaranteed specified rate of return. However, the Fund Manager takes on the responsibility to monitor interest rates to ensure that the Fund optimizes its yield.
You may receive Dividends and Distributions from the net income of the Fund on a quarterly basis provided the Fund makes a profit in the quarter or financial year in respect of which such Distributions are made. You, therefore, have the option to elect to be paid such Dividends or to reinvest the Dividends in new Units at the Offer Price. If you elect to have the Dividends reinvested in new Units, you shall be entitled to an issue of Units that are equal in value to the amount you otherwise would have received in cash as Dividends.
You reserve the right to redeem all or part of your Units held at the Bid Price on any Business Day,

The Fund will make redemption payments within five (5) Business Days of receipt of the Redemption Notice. No additional charges will be made on Redemption.
However, if you redeem your investment before the expiration of the Minimum Investment Period, you forfeit 20% of the returns accrued on such investment.
Yes, you can make an additional investment at any time you want.

Subscriptions shall be processed at the prevailing exchange rate advised by the Fund Manager, and the Receiving Bank will issue CCIs evidencing such foreign currency subscriptions.
The CCI should be kept by the foreign currency subscriber, as it will be required for a subsequent repatriation in a freely convertible currency of proceeds from redemption of Units or from any distribution of the Fund’s income that the Fund Manager may undertake.
The Fund will be managed by Afrinvest Asset Management Limited (“AAML”). AAML is licensed by SEC as a
portfolio manager and has over 20 years’ experience managing various client’s funds/assets through
three sub-divisions: Portfolio/Fund Management; Fund Administration; and Product
AAML currently has more than N10.7 billion of assets under management, held on behalf of Institutional, high net-worth and retail clients.
The Fund will be closely regulated by SEC, and funds will be safeguarded by a Custodian Bank.
Meristem Trustees – a subsidiary of Meristem Wealth Management Limited – stands to protect your interests as an investor in the Fund. They will provide an oversight and monitoring functions to ensure compliance with the investment policies of the Fund.
